It’s been a busy few months at Lantern, with campaign launches, brand development programmes, photoshoots and identity projects all on the go. One such project we’re particularly excited about is the new branding for East London recording studio Mala Sounds.

The Shoreditch-based business is led by industry duo Mark Allaway and Laurence Aldridge, who, with over 20 years experience between them, have worked with the likes of the Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy, Jamie T, Empire of the Sun and Erol Alkan.  With Mala being an acronym of their combined initials, we felt it was only fitting to devise a timeless, unifying monogram to reflect their quality, service and heritage.

Type aficionados may be interested to know that the identity is formed from Commercial Type’s Dala Floda Bold typeface, with angles and edges adjusted to create the unique marque. We’re looking forward to working with Mala Sounds as the identity rolls out in print and online.

For more information on this exciting new venture, visit malasounds.co.uk or follow the duo on Twitter @malasounds
